New Series: Home Free, Even Me

Amazing grace. Do we really get it? Do we really comprehend that at the core of the gospel lies the extravagance of a loving Father powerfully expressed in the grace of a willing Savior?

In the story of the Prodigal Son along with a collection of journal entries from a college student’s amazing journey to faith, we see God’s unhindered love poured out as acceptance and grace meet our failures. His capacity to forgive outshines doubt and shame, and reconciliation beckons all.

We hope you can join us this Sunday for the start of this two-part series by Louie Giglio. Invite a friend!… Read the rest

Sunday, May 22, we had our most recent Baby Dedication.

Eight families were involved, and nine children were dedicated: Jane, Annabelle, Ava, Lukas, Annie, Avery, Piper, Amelia Mae, and Jax.

The moms received a rose, the dads received a children’s Bible to read to their kids, and the babies received a commitment from their parents, relatives, and Access, that they will lead them into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Night of Worship

Sunday night our church experienced an incredible time of worship through music, prayer, and communion. Brit Jones and Stacy Jackson led and introduced some new music. Several who attended commented about what a powerful evening it was. New to this event was the opportunity to gather in groups of four or five and pray together for our church and our city.

You can download the music on iTunes.

We’ll see you at the next Night of Worship in September!… Read the rest

The Crossing Church

We can’t reach all of Jacksonville on our own. We need help. So, it’s great news that a group of people in Julington Creek are rallying to create environments very much like Access Church—where those who feel disconnected from traditional church can ask questions about relating to God.

However, it is with mixed emotions that we announce Adam & Kristen Flynt will be leading this new church. Adam & Kristen have led the family ministry at Access Church for the past four years, and become dear friends and colleagues. We are sad to see them go.

God has clearly been preparing the Flynt family for this next step. They are well-gifted in leadership and Adam, who will be the lead pastor and primary communicator at The Crossing Church, is a strong teacher.

We love the Flynts and hate to see them go. At the same time, we’re excited for the Flynts, for Julington Creek, and for Access Church. We now have one more church partnering with us to reach the thousands in North Florida who have yet to discover a personal relationship with Jesus Christ!… Read the rest

I Want to be Great

So you want to be great? Most of us do.

We want to be respected for our great intellects, pursued for our great abilities, or perhaps admired for our great looks. But when asked, “Who’s great?” few of us would point to people who are merely great at something. Intuitively we know that true greatness goes beyond skill, talent, intellect, or looks.

So what is it? In this four-part series, Andy Stanley and Clay Scroggins will take us on a journey through the Bible in search of answers to the questions, “What does it mean to be great?” and “Who is a candidate for greatness?”

In the end, you will discover that greatness is always a choice. A choice you have the opportunity to make every day.

Join us this Sunday, May 8, for the kick-off of this series. See you at Access Church!… Read the rest
